The Principal aim of R.E. in our schools is:
"to enable pupils to participate in an on-going search for wisdom, in the light of
questions raised by human experience and answers offered by the religions and beliefs of the people of Derbyshire and the wider community, so as to promote their personal development".
Throughout their time at school, children are taught Christianity in both Key Stages. The children develop a sound understanding of Hinduism and Islam as well as learning the Key tenets of other faiths as they progress through the school.
We also explore atheistic and agnostic responses to human experience. You can see and hear more in a video which won an award from the Diocese in 2015 in the Gallery: https://www.westoncofe.derbyshire.sch.uk/gallery/
