Our topic this term is 'Around the World'. We are travelling all around the world and learning about different places. 

 

Weston and the UK

We started off by learning about our own village and where it is in the UK. Then, we learnt about some of the other countries in the UK and what modes of transport we could use to travel around. 

 

 

 

Spain

We then turned our school into an airport and 'took a plane' to Spain. We packed our suitcases and compared the weather. We also learnt how to do some flamenco dancing and made our own castanets. 

 

Italy

Next, we 'took a train' to Italy. We learnt some Italian words and made pizzas. 

 

China

For our 'visit' to China, we read 'The Magic Paintbrush' and had a go at painting using calligraphy brushes and traditional ink. We also learnt about Chinese New Year - this year is the Year of the Dragon!
