Here at Weston we do all in our power to support our children and their families. We take the time to listen to people and to understand their situation. If they are struggling, children will be supported in school if this appropriate, or families will be signposted to sources of help and advice. For children and families who need a little more support, in addition to accessing the local authority Early Help support, we have bought into a consortium of schools accessing help from trained professionals at the Children First Derby charity. This charity supports families and can provide counselling for children if this is required. We also refer children to Build Sound Minds if we believe that this will help them. We a dedicated nurture space, and during the 2021-2022 academic year set up Positive Play provision for the children who need it. Our trained nurture TA works with individuals and groups for at least a day every week.
