During the week commencing October 10th, the whole school focussed on an independent writing task.
We used an image from 'Gorilla' by Anthony Browne as a stimulus and had the children writing as independently as possible.
We then took the opportunity for the teachers to spend some time looking at the standard of writing across the school.
We also wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate writing with the children and to share examples of good writing which could inspire others.
This work accompanies our focus on improving writing across the school and the introduction of the Martin Harvey ISHA scheme this September.
It is exciting to see the writing journey throughout the school.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
