The School Chaplain.

I am delighted to inform you that the school now has its own Chaplain. This has been arranged through the Derby City Centre Chaplaincy organisation as part of a well-established and successful programme. Our Chaplain, Mrs Deidre Cheetham, has a long association with the school and is a very kind and gentle person. She has taken time to introduce herself to the staff, children and wider school community of the school.
The Chaplain’s role is described as follows:
- Interacts with people for their spiritual and emotional well-being.
- Offers confidential, non-judgemental support about all aspects of life and work.
- Is motivated by their Christian faith to care for people and their communities.
- Is a good listener, as they value, support and encourage staff.
- Respects diversity of belief within the wider community.
Parents are able to request that their children do not see the chaplain if they so wish.
