National Careers Week

Careers Week at Weston!

To mark National Careers Week, we have seen visits from parents with jobs including fashion designer, dance teacher, Vicar, PCSO, Orthoptics Lecturer, Engineer, Collision Investigator and trauma Doctor to name a few! The focus of the week was to let the children know a bit about day-to-day life in a range of different fields with the idea of what kind of job they might enjoy later in life.

We want to say an enormous thank you to all the parents and community members who came into school this week to share their careers with the children supporting their wider development. The response has been so incredibly positive — we have been genuinely overwhelmed by the kindness, enthusiasm and generosity shown by every volunteer who gave their time, without them it wouldn't have been possible!

Our visitors brought in props, created brilliant presentations, dressed up, answered endless questions and inspired our pupils with real‑life stories from a huge range of professions. The children absolutely loved it, and the impact has been fantastic.

A heartfelt thank you to: Raj Singh, Cara Gunter, Romeana Juffs, Vanessa Dodd, Kate Todd, Graham Knight, Rev Matt Green, Dr Andrew Butterworth, James Manning, Kelly Thomas, Sonia Toor, Phillipa Erel, Dr Emily Foreman, Dave Hing and Lucy Stephens.

Your support has helped open our children’s eyes to the incredible possibilities ahead of them — and we are so grateful for your time and enthusiasm.

Thank you for being such a wonderful part of our Weston community!
