In Spring 1, we learnt which stories are special and why. We first started by looking at the stories and books that are special to us. Then, we learnt about some important stories from the Bible.
We read 'Jesus calms the storm' and drew our own pieces of artwork to go with the story.
Then, we read 'David and Goliath' and we wrote a chant for David:
David, David, a lion you can fight,
Saved the day and didn’t get a fright!
David trusted God to help,
The giant Goliath let out a welp!
David, David, a giant you can beat,
You are the king we want to meet!
We also read some stories from the Qur'an: Muhammad and the Angel and Muhammad and the Dove and the Spider.
We discussed why these stories are important and what similarities they may share.
