Swimming at Weston-on-Trent C.E. (Aided) Primary
Children at Weston-on-Trent take part in swimming as part of their P.E. curriculum.
Year 3: Children in Year 3 have swimming lessons for two terms (Autumn and Spring).
Year 6: Children in Year 6 have swimming lessons from Easter until the end of the Summer term.
By splitting the swimming over two separate blocks we help our children meet the national curriculum requirement to swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres, use a range of strokes effectively and perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations.
